Review: Reuben Hills

61 Albion Street
Surry Hills

7days
7am - 4pm

Having been on our hit list for a good long while, we are finally heading to Reuben Hills for an early Sunday breakfast.

We arrive at around 8.15 and there is already a steady stream of customers taking their seats.
The room is quite narrow & long, with a somewhat warehousey feel to it.

The menu is available all day and there are some really interesting choices.

Buggles kicks off with a coffee, but I cannot resist the Salted Caramel Milkshake. At $6.50 it is worth every cent. It is so lush and creamy and most importantly - salty. I love it.

I love a Reuben, but what I love more is brisket - so the NOT Reuben should be right up my street....and indeed it is. Loaded with brisket that is pull apart tender, the meat is seasoned perfectly and has great flavour, add to that the tang of the pickled slaw, the abundance of manchego and the heat from the horseradish cream & this sandwich is an absolute winner - my only complaint, it could be bigger!

Baleada with pulled Pimenton Pork & Chimol is also a clear winner with Buggles. A soft tortilla packed with tender, delicious pork and a light fresh salsa and yep, Buggles is one happy little camper!

Breakfast done and with bellies full we head off to Danks Street for our weekly grocery shop, vowing to return to Reuben Hills very soon.
