So today we took the 2 minute stroll to partake of yet another breakfast at our local Kitchen by Mike.

The breakfast menu is relatively small, and today we are both in a Hollandaise kind of mood, so Buggles opts for the Eggs Royale served with smoked salmon and I go for the Eggs Benedict which generally comes with prosciutto, though I swap it for bacon.

Eggs benedict with extra egg and fresh!!! tomato

As the serving sizes are very small, extras are a must and as they are priced between $3.00 & $4.00 a side, this can make for an expensive breakfast.
I add an extra egg  and tomato to mine & Buggles adds avocado- she did want mushrooms but apparently mushrooms are a weekend thing, go figure!
To wash this down we order a Mixed Berry Smoothie and a Strawberry
Lemonade.

Breakfast arrives and mine is looking a little sad, one tiny egg and a tiny serve of bacon - meanwhile Buggles receives hers with an extra egg, tomato and avocado!! Once my sides are returned to me with tuck in.

When I have ordered a side of tomato in the past, it has been oven roasted & delicious, today it is a tiny, sliced, fresh tomato certainly not worth the $3.00 we were charged for it.
On the whole though, our breakfast is pretty tasty and the smoothie and lemonade are very, very good.

The weekend breakfast menu seems to offer more - mushrooms for start, as well as hotcakes with lemon curd (these are spectacular), so even though the crowds are larger, perhaps we will reserve our breakfast visits for the weekend.
